Simple Tips For Optimizing Your Blog For Search Engine Traffic

Many bloggers believe they don’t need to SEO optimize their blog because they have no clue as to how to go about optimizing their blogs. This is one reason you’ll see so many bloggers fail to earn money online.

SEO’ing your blog post is simple. It can be done in 3 easy steps. By following these easy steps, you can increase browsers to your site which may be the difference in a blog that builds its owner virtually no income or one that becomes a great source of additional income.

Follow the advice below to search engine optimize every blog post you write and start taking advantage of free traffic from search engines.

To start with, you should make certain your post url’s are search engine compatible. With many free blog services like Blogger, this is done automatically and cannot be changed. If you use WordPress, then you’ll want to change your url structure so that the code produces SEO friendly url’s when you make a post.

The way you get this done in WordPress is to click on the Permalinks tab, and click the radio button next to the Custom field. Next you’ll put a percentage sign followed by the words Postname. {Immediately after the words postname, Now} add another percent symbol. Now all your blog post will have SEO friendly post.

The next tip on optimizing your blog is to put your main keywords in the Title. This is very important. If you’re blogging about to make fast money, then make sure these keywords are in the Title of your blog. Don’t put something like Johns Blog. Using the keywords in the Title, then you’ll rank higher than if you name it something totally unrelated.

The next important step is to write your keywords in the Post’s title. If you’re targeting traffic to read your post about online auctions to to make extra money, then your post title should have those keywords in it. Not something like How I Make Money With Auctions. Doing this prevents the search engine bots from figuring out what your post is about and prevents search engine users from finding your blog post. This is especially important if you’re trying to make money with Adsense.

Implementing these 3 simple tips will go a long ways in letting the Search Engines know what subject your blog post is about. By taking a little extra time and making it easy for the search engines to understand what your post and blog are about, the search engines will rank your blog higher in their listings.

Now the only thing you’ll need is to build links to your blog and blog post. Ahh, but link building is a whole nother article that has to be saved for later. But you need to learn how to optimize your blog before tackling link building.
